DMX began rapping in the latter part of the 1990s. He debuted his debut album The album It's Hot and Hell was Dark May 19, 1998. The album was followed by other releases such as... And There Was X and Great Depression Year of the Dog... Redemption of the Beast, Grand Champ. His album... And There Was X was awarded the Grammy prize in 2001 for the category of Best Rap Album. His career in music was enhanced with appearances in films such as Lords of the Street Belly Top Five - Exit Wounded Never Die Alone - The Bleeding Romeo MUST Die Backstage - Beyond the Law Lockjaw - Rise of the Kulev Serpent and Fast and Fierce Death Race.
